Die kostenlose Bildbearbeitungs- Software Paint.NET ist heute in einer neuen Version erschienen. Der Paint.NET Autor und Entwickler Rick Brewster, gab heute die Verfügbarkeit von Paint.NET v3.5.5 Final Release bekannt.

This update fixes a bug when saving 8-bit images, improves layer composition and Gaussian Blur performance, and is now updated to support the new .NET Framework 4.0 in some cases.

Here’s the final release for the update to Paint.NET that I’ve been talking about over the last few weeks. It brings performance improvements, a smaller download size, and of course the requisite bug fix. Thanks for everyone who has tried out the Beta and sent in bug reports and installation problems.
- Fixed the bug where saving as 8-bit PNG/GIF/BMP wasn't always working, usually with larger images.
- Improved the performance of the Gaussian Blur effect by 30-40%.
- Improved the performance of all the layer blending modes by 15-30%.
- Improved the performance of zooming with the mouse wheel on dual-core Intel Atom systems.
- Updated to support .NET 4.0 if no other version of .NET is installed.
- Reduced download size from 4.8MB down to 3.5MB.
- Fixed a small error in the Chinese translation.
Paint.NET ist eine Bildbearbeitungs- Software, die an der Washington State University und bei Microsoft entwickelt wurde. Ursprünglich sollte Paint.NET lediglich eine erweiterte Version von Microsoft Paint sein. Durch ständige Erweiterung bietet das Programm mittlerweile Funktionen wie z. B. das Arbeiten mit Ebenen, welche aus Adobe Photoshop oder GIMP bekannt sind. Auch die Bedienung ähnelt der von Adobe Photoshop.
