Sun Microsystems hat das ODF Plug-In für Office 2000, XP, 2003 und 2007 in einer neuen Version veröffentlicht und zum Download bereitgestellt.
Das ODF Plug-In 3.2 für Microsoft Office ist ein Paket von Import- und Exportfiltern, die die Word-, Excel- und PowerPoint-Versionen 2000, 2002, 2003 und 2007 in die Lage versetzen, OpenDocument-Dateien aus OpenOffice und StarOffice zu lesen und im ODF-Format zu speichern.

Nach der Installation finden sie in den Dialogfenstern Öffnen und Speichern von Word neue Einträge zum Öffnen und Speichern von .odt und .ott Dateien, bzw. in Excel und PowerPoint 2000, XP, 2003 und 2007 eine neue Symbolleiste zum Öffnen und Exportieren von .ods und .odp Dateien.
